Hello,

My name is Karen Garcia, I´m from Mexico city and I´m 32 years old. I like to do activities that provide me a moment to relax, for example, I like to do excercise everyday and I really enjoy swimming twice a week. I am a very kind person, I think that you can resolve everything only if you try to do it with kindness. Also, I´m a Psychologist and I have a Master´s degree in Clinical Psychology so I really love to help people and listen to them. I considerer myself an empathetic and solidary person. I am an extroverted girl and I really enjoy to share my time with other people.

Nowadays, I am married, I live with my husband at home, he is so nice and of course he has a job. Actually I think that he is very kind too. We really worry about people on the streets, children without family and animals without protection. I have the fortune to have my parents alive. They are senior citizens, however my mom still works and my dad is a retired psychiatrist. I think my mom really enjoys her job and maybe because of that, she is still working.

Besides, I have two brother, one is a Psychologist too and he works at a hospital. My younger brother is studying right now and he has 24 years old. Finally we have 3 dogs, they are very small and pretty, their names are Bruno, Toribio and Filiberto, they are dachshunds.

In my career time, I had the opportunity to work with the elderly, specifically at a nursing home, I used to have the responsability to take care of them and accompaniment in their rutinary chores. I always try to help them with some psychological excercises for the betterment of their memory or just to help them to avoid the cognitive impairment.

What motivates me when talking about senior citizens care is that they really have to share so much with younger people, they already lived so many things that can give to everyone, a lot of experience and advice. Sometimes we take them for granted and see them as a persons who can´t be recognized. Personally, I have just one of my grandparents and I like to speak with her as much as I can, she usually likes to tell me about her younger years and just to listen to her I think she feels better everyday.
