Letter to the family

The desire to live and work abroad has been with me for a long time. A few years ago, I earned a competitive scholarship through AFS (American Field Service) to travel internationally and immerse myself in another culture. Winning that scholarship was one of the proudest moments of my life — it affirmed that others saw potential in me as a global citizen and young leader. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I never got to take that journey. While it was disappointing at the time, it only deepened my passion for cultural exchange and strengthened my commitment to see that experience in the future.

Becoming an au pair or nanny abroad now feels like the second chance I’ve been waiting for. It’s an opportunity to finally experience what I had once prepared for: living in a different country, learning a new language or way of life, and forming connections that go beyond borders. It’s not just about travel; it’s about growth, service, and stepping into an unfamiliar world with openness and heart.

My background wor with children — including teaching swim lessons and volunteering at the YMCA — has shown me how rewarding it is to help young people grow, learn, and feel supported. Children teach you patience, creativity, and how to communicate clearly — all skills that are essential in life and in a global career. I see becoming an au pair as a chance to continue doing what I love while also achieving a long-held dream of cultural immersion.

As a marketing student, I also recognize how valuable international experience is in today’s world. Understanding other cultures firsthand helps me connect with people more deeply and think beyond my own perspective — something essential in building meaningful brands and campaigns in a global market.

Ultimately, while I missed my first opportunity with AFS, I’ve never let go of the dream. Being an au pair would not only allow me to give back by supporting a host family, but it would also give me the personal and professional experience that I know will shape who I am for years to come.

Experience

You should host me because I bring genuine care, a strong sense of responsibility, and a deep respect for your family, culture, and home. I’m not just loo for a place to stay — I’m loo for a way to become part of your lives in a meaningful and supportive way. I take pride in being dependable, positive, and adaptable, and I’m eager to bring that energy into your household.

I have real experience wor with children through swim instruction and volunteering, which has taught me patience, communication, and how to create a safe, fun environment. I understand that every child is unique and that parenting is deeply personal — I’ll respect your values and routines while contributing to your child’s growth and happiness.

What makes me different is my genuine desire to learn and connect. I was awarded a scholarship through AFS to study abroad, which reflects my commitment to cross-cultural understanding, even though I didn’t get to take that trip. Being an au pair feels like my second chance — and I don’t take it lightly.

I want to help make your daily life easier, bring warmth and support to your children, and learn from your culture as much as I share my own. Hosting me means gaining someone who’s not only reliable and kind, but also excited to be fully present and part of your journey.
