Letter to the family

Dear family,

Here you will find a few things about me. I decided to become an au pair after meeting an Italian friend who is an au pair in London. She knows how much I enjoy working with kids and how easy I connect with people and so she recommended this to me. In the past 2 years I have done some baby sitting and a lot of teaching (ages mostly 7 to 10) and it has been one of the best experiences in my life. Since I study Spanish and Italian, I am looking for kind and welcoming families in Spain or Italy. I like big cities but I also love the countryside so any place would be perfect for me.
I am very energetic and athletic so outdoor activities would not be a problem. I also have a dog and two cats who I absolutely adore, therefore a family with pets would be great for me as well.
I am looking to put my skills into use, take care of the kids, speak English with them, create activities and play responsibly and spend time with the family. I want to give a part of my culture as a Greek person to you and in return I want to learn and appreciate your traditions and customs.
I am available as soon as possible until October, when I will have to return to the university.

Experience

Becoming an au pair for me means combining my two passions of teaching and traveling. I love spending quality time with children, preparing games and activities and encouraging them to be the best they can. I am always patient and ready to put in the energy that's necessary. My experience teaching in a primary school this year was very rewarding. I realised the kids were always engaged and I was able to make learning seem fun and exciting. I built relationships with them and some parents. It helped me grow as a person, mature and become more responsible and organised. At the same time, working with children made me more open and appreciative of the little joys in life, seing them so enthusiastic and active I couldn't help but feel energised as well. I am looking forward to being able to work close to a family of a different culture and help the kids with school work or English, while immersing myself in the culture and traditions of their place. I am very respectful and easy to talk to and I believe I can make this experience fun for both sides.
