Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Honnie (Honey), and I’m a 28-year-old from the UK with a deep-rooted love for caring for others. I currently work as a workshop manager at a BMW workshop, but throughout my life, I’ve always naturally taken on a caregiving role – something I now wish to pursue more intentionally by becoming an au pair.

I come from a large family with 16 siblings, and being the 8th eldest meant I had a lot of responsibility growing up. I helped raise my seven younger siblings from a young age, which involved everything from changing nappies and bottle feeding to providing emotional support and everyday care. Although I don’t have formal childcare qualifications, my hands-on experience has shaped me into a nurturing, responsible, and compassionate person.

Life hasn’t always been easy – I’ve lived independently since I was 15 and grew up in social services, which taught me resilience, independence, and the importance of creating a safe, supportive home. These experiences gave me a unique perspective on what children need to feel loved and secure, and it’s something I would bring into your family’s environment.

I’ve spent time living in Spain over the last 15 years and have always loved immersing myself in new cultures and homes. Even when staying with friends or extended family, I naturally take on the role of the “helper” – cooking, tidying, and making sure everyone feels looked after. I’m happy to help around the house, support routines, and bring positive energy into your family’s life.

Choosing to host me means welcoming someone who is deeply committed, emotionally mature, and wholeheartedly invested in creating a warm, happy atmosphere for your children. I’d love to become part of your family, not just as a helper, but as someone who genuinely cares about your children’s wellbeing and growth.
