Letter to the family

Dear future host family,

My name is Elena, I am 19 years old and I come from Austria. After spending a semester abroad, I discovered how enriching it is to explore new cultures, meet people from different backrounds and experience everyday life in another country. Being welcomed with open arms in unfamiliar surroundings showed me that the place we call home, does not always have to be the place we grew up. This experience awakened a deep curiosity in me to continue discovering and exploring the world.

What makes me a great fit for your family is my open-minded, helpful and cheerful personality. I am very sociable and get along well with both children and adults. During my exchange year, I have already proved myself how well I can adapt to new situations and cultures. I also have several years of experience as a babysitter, caring for children aged between four and ten years. I enjoy playing with children, helping with homework and being someone they feel safe with.

Experience

Although I have not offically worked as an Au Pair yet, I have gained valuable childcare experience through babysitting over the past few years. I have cared for children between the ages of four and ten years, supporting families with everyday routines, creative play and bedtime. These experiences thaught me how to be patient, responsible and adapt to each child´s individual needs.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because I truly enjoy spending time with children and being a part of their daily life. At the same time, I am excited about the opportunity to engage with a new culture, improve my language skills further and become a part of a host family´s life. Living abroad is not just about seeing new places, for me it is about forming connections, growing as a person and lastly understanding different ways of life.
