Letter to the family

Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Julissa, and I’m a 20 year-old from the US. I come from a warm and supportive family and have always enjoyed spending time with children, whether it’s helping my younger cousins or volunteering in childcare programs. I’m excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair because I see it as a meaningful way to combine my love for working with children with my passion for cultural exchange.

I’m drawn to the Au Pair experience not only to support your family but also to immerse myself in a new culture, improve my language skills, and grow personally and professionally. Living with a host family offers a unique opportunity to form close relationships, learn the daily rhythms of another culture, and develop a deeper understanding of the world. I believe this journey will challenge me in the best way and help me grow into a more responsible, open-minded, and capable individual.

You should consider hosting me because I am dependable, caring, and respectful of others’ values and routines. I understand the importance of trust when it comes to your children, and I’m committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for them. I’m flexible and easy to communicate with, and I take the responsibility of being a role model seriously.

I am confident that I’m well-qualified for the role. I have with volunteering with kids as well I have babysat for my younger cousins since I was 11, I speak only English at the moment, but I am currently learning Spanish (A2) , and I am comfortable with household tasks and routines.I am not ceritifed in CPR or First Aid, but I can be before I arrive. Above all, I bring genuine enthusiasm, patience, and care to every interaction with children.

Thank you very much for considering my application. I would be honored to become a part of your family and contribute positively to your daily life. I look forward to the possibility of getting to know you and sharing wonderful experiences together.

Warm regards,
Julissa W

Experience

Although I am a first-time Au Pair, I have valuable experience caring for children in my own family and community. I’ve spent time babysitting younger cousins and children of family friends, which has taught me how to be patient, responsible, and creative when engaging with kids. Whether helping with homework, playing games, preparing simple meals, or just being a supportive presence, I truly enjoy building connections with children and helping them grow in a safe and caring environment.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because I see it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to combine meaningful work with cultural exchange. I’ve always been curious about the world and how people live in other countries. Living with a host family would allow me to experience everyday life in a new culture, improve my language skills, and gain a new perspective. At the same time, I would be offering support to your family, especially with childcare and household tasks, and doing something I truly enjoy.

This experience is not just about traveling—it’s about learning, sharing, and forming real connections. I believe being an Au Pair will help me grow personally and professionally, and I’m excited to bring my energy, kindness, and sense of responsibility to your home.
