Letter to the family

Dear future family,

I would like to express my interest in participating in the Au Pair program. I'm Jennifer, a 27-year-old young adult who is curious, kind and a dreamer passionate about interculturality and children.

Over the years, between academic achievements and volunteer work, I had the opportunity to volunteer as a children's teacher in a Christian organization of which I was a member. In addition, caring for children in my family has also been a part of my journey and these experiences have strengthened my willingness to think that being an au pair could be the next step for me. I believe that this experience will not only provide me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture, but will also make me grow as an individual and allow me to contribute positively to a hospitable family.

My choice to become an au pair is motivated by a few factors. Firstly, I admire the idea of learning and sharing with a host family, helping with their children's development. I am patient, caring and hard-working. I care about contributing to a safe environment that is able to stimulate children's development in a healthy way

In addition, I have a respect for cultural diversity and I am excited about the idea of fully immersing myself in a new language and traditions. I believe this experience will enlarge my understanding of the world and I hope it will be life-enriching for the host family with whom I will be sharing this journey.

My practical skills include the ability to carry out household chores efficiently, prepare healthy meals and maintain an organized and harmonious environment, which will allow me not only to take care of the children, but also to help with daily household chores.

In short, I believe that my personality, skills and motivations make me a qualified candidate to be an au pair. I hope we can build lasting and happy memories together.

Experience

My experience with children was crucial for me to better understand the importance of a healthy childhood in the adult life, which also contributed to my personal life.
During my time as a church Child Educator (1.5 years) and looking after children in my family, I ended up acquiring some skills and exercising others that were already part of me, such as patience, care, comprehension, attention and safety.

Although I had never been an au pair before, my experience as a children's teacher at church allowed me to develop my communication with the children and to exercise and develop myself so that they could also develop in a healthy way and understand the content that was being taught to them.

When I looked after children in my family, my responsibilities included preparing meals, helping with homework, playing and creating educational activities.
