Letter to the family

My name is Chiara, I’m 24 years old and I’m a student. I’m a cheerful and curious person, especially when it comes to discovering new cultures.

One of the main reasons I want to become an au pair is because I genuinely love spending time with children.
Being around them makes me happy: I enjoy playing with them, learning together, and sometimes even reconnecting with my own inner child. In many ways, children have been some of my best teachers, not just through play, but also in life. They’ve taught me patience, how to listen, creativity, and spontaneity.

Another reason I want to have this experience is because of my passion for discovering new cultures. This passion naturally brought me closer to the French language, which I am currently studying and would love to improve by fully immersing myself in the culture and daily life of a French family.

Why should you welcome me into your family?
I am a very responsible person, especially when it comes to taking care of children and maintaining a clean and organized environment. During my studies, I lived with roommates, so I know what it means to respect shared spaces and collaborate with household chores. I’m also very sociable and adaptable, and I truly hope to integrate naturally into the family that welcomes me, sharing your everyday life with respect and kindness.

As for my qualifications, I have some experience as a babysitter in my hometown, and I’ve already lived with a host family in France. I’m familiar with the responsibilities of caring for children and supporting them in their daily routines. I also know how to use household tools and appliances, and I’m happy to help with light cleaning and keeping the house tidy.

I’m really looking forward to becoming a part of your family and sharing a beautiful cultural experience together!

Experience

My first real experience as an Au Pair was in France (through another platform), where I lived for two months with a host family, taking care of two adorable children. It was a very enriching experience that allowed me not only to connect with a different culture, but also to realize how comfortable and fulfilled I felt in the role of an au pair. In the past, I’ve also had a few small babysitting experiences in my hometown, which helped me develop sensitivity and attentiveness when working with children.

I want to become an Au Pair abroad again mainly to improve my French and fully immerse myself in French culture. I’ve been studying the language for some time, and I believe that living daily life with a local family is the best way to truly learn it. Beyond the language, I’m very curious to explore all aspects of local culture: from food and traditions to everyday life.

Another reason is that I truly love spending time with children. I enjoy creating playful moments with them that are also educational and stimulating. Working with children makes me feel useful and brings me a lot of joy: every day is different, and they always find a way to surprise me.

Finally, living such an experience is a great opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone and grow both personally and professionally. Joining a new family, adapting to a new routine, and living abroad allow me to learn, challenge myself, and carry with me precious memories and new perspectives.
