Letter to the family

Hi there!

I'm Jordan, a junior at SUNY Buffalo State (U.S.), majoring in Business and Marketing Education. I’m known for my positive, caring attitude and love for creativity and adventure! I’ve signed up to be an Au Pair or Caregiver because I’m passionate about travel and new experiences, while also loving the opportunity to care for others. It’s a great way for both of us to grow—whether learning from each other, exploring new places, or discovering more about ourselves.

Why should you host me? I bring a fun and upbeat energy, but I also value independent time and make sure everyone has their space. I’m organized, responsible, and comfortable with household tasks, including cleaning assignments.

I’m particularly qualified for this role, having spent over a year working with 12-19-year-olds with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and Mental Health Diagnoses. This experience has taught me how to be attentive to individual needs, understand triggers, delegate responsibilities that match capabilities, and ensure a comfortable and supportive environment.

I’d love the opportunity to work with your family and create meaningful experiences together!

Experience

I had the rewarding opportunity to work as a social work intern in an elderly home for a year. Although I didn’t provide direct care, I interacted with the residents daily, forming meaningful connections and getting to know their unique personalities and lifetime stories.

In my current role, I work with individuals aged 12-18 with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, and Mental Health Diagnoses. My responsibilities include creating and following daily schedules, recognizing early warning signs, and ensuring a positive, healthy, and safe environment for my clients.

I am excited to combine my passion for caregiving with my love for travel by becoming an Au Pair and Caregiver for the elderly abroad. This opportunity allows me to support others while gaining valuable international experience.
