Letter to the family

Dear future host,

My name is Jade, I am 22 years old and am from Wales. I am currently in my last few months of studying to become a qualified Learning Disability Nurse. I have over two years-worth of experience working with children and have loved every second. I have volunteered at youth centres and have paid work experience working with children and young people with special needs. I would love to become an Au Pair to be able to travel the world, meet new people and make a difference to the lives of the children I work with.

I am a very organised person and can tailor my service to the needs of you and your child, inclusive of helping them with all educational tasks or hobbies, I am very sporty and love being creative. I have specialist experience in creating resources to help children learn certain every-day tasks as well as social stories to help children with emotional experiences. I am a keen swimmer and have a level 0 qualification in teaching children how to swim. I have previously travelled overseas to carry out volunteer work to care for children in disadvantaged areas. Through my training I have rewarding experience in working with young people with intellectual disabilities. As a result I have developed verbal, non-verbal and alternative communication skills among other skills that I will transfer to the role of Au Pair.

I have a fun, approachable personality and am a people-person. I believe that as a nurse I am kind, caring and compassionate and would transfer these skills to the role of Au Pair. I love animals and enjoy taking care of them. I enjoy exercise, learning new skills and am passionate about making a difference to young people lives. I can speak basic Spanish, but would be more than willing to learn the basic language of the family I work with, I can teach and help with the English language where needed. Through working as a Support Worker, I have experience working within a family home and understand the importance of trust, reliability and flexibility. I very much look forward to starting the journey of Au Pair and hope to be fortunate enough to become a part of your family.

Due to finishing my studies to become a nurse, I am looking for au pair opportunities for next year, please do get in touch if you’d like to get to know me some more to see if I am a good fit for you and your family for next year!
