Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

I’m Katharina, 18, from Germany. I just finished my Abitur and, before diving into university, I want to explore something new. Australia has had my interest for quite a while now, and becoming an Au Pair seems like the perfect way to experience it.

I’m drawn to this role because I love working with kids. I did a three-week internship at a kindergarten in 2022, and it was a nice time. Even after the internship, I kept visiting the kids because I enjoyed it so much. Besides that, I’m into fitness, love shopping, and recently got hooked on surfing. I’ve also been riding horses for ten years, so I’m used to being responsible and patient.

I think I’d be a good fit for your family because I’m outgoing, fun, and ready to jump into life in Australia. I’m also great with animals, so if you have pets, I’m all in.

I’m eager to start this adventure and bring some of my energy to your family.

Experience

The reason I want to become an Au Pair abroad, especially in Australia, is that it’s the perfect way to immerse myself in the country’s culture while exploring its unique landscapes, and beaches. I believe that being an Au Pair allows me to truly experience the Australian way of life not just as a visitor, but as someone who’s actively involved in a local family’s daily life. It’s the best way to combine living there and discovering everything Australia has to offer.
