Letter to the family

Hello,
My name is Jonna, I am currently 17 years old (for like another three weeks) and attending 13th grade at a nearby high school in Northern Germany. By july next year I hope to have achieved the Abitur, which is the highest school-leaving qualification we have in Germany. After my year abroad I would possibly like to study psychology in either Ireland or The Netherlands, though I am not completely certain about that just yet.
In my leisure time I like to read, hike, ride my bike, listen to or sing to music, play the mandolin and occasionally draw or paint. I have a currently 13-year-old sister who likes to cook and bake, as well as go to the city with me from time to time.
For as long as I can remember I have loved the English language and I hope that I will be able to further my knowledge on this subject during my stay abraod. Additionally I would like to make some cultural experiences outside of Germany to broaden my horizon and gather more life experience on how to deal with unfamiliar situations, places and people.
If I happen to be assigned a host family in Ireland it would also help me decide whether or not I would like to study there in the future.
I would like to become an Au pair or do a homeshare with elderly, because it gives me a direct impression of their culture and day-to-day-life while simultaniously furthering my English skills. Moreover I like to be able to help other people.
I have some experience with children through my younger sister and occasionally supporting the mandolin and guitar orchestra for the about ten to sixteen-year-olds.
Concerning household chores, I usually accompany my mother when she goes to the grocery store, do the laundry and dishes when necessary and cook some simple meals as well as follow recepies for cooking and baking.
I love when other people give me a reason to go outside and although I may be a bit awkward at conversation at first it will get better as I get to know you.

Experience

I tried to divide this part up so it would be easier for you to find the information relevant to you.

Au pair:
The only experience I have with taking care of children is looking after my younger sister when our parents are gone and occasionally supporting the orchestra for mandolin and guitar players from about ten to sixteen years of age. I have also spent four weeks with a host family in North Carolina who had a seven-year-old son and five-year-old niece who were both really adorable (most of the time anyways :)) and who I got along with just fine and vice versa.

Au pair and Homeshare with elderly:
Concerning household chores I have more experience, as I usually accompany my mother while grocery shopping, do the dishes and laundry when necessary and have baked almost all of the birthday cakes in our household the past few years. I can also cook some basic meals and follow recepies or instructions for others.

Homeshare with elderly:
Other than being fine and experienced with household chores I enjoy going for a walk and keeping othes company. While I may be a bit awkward during initial conversations I‘ll be able to talk to you much more freely once I get to know you, so don‘t be discouraged by short answers.
