Letter to the family

Hi,

My name is Sasha, I will be graduating high school at the end of this year in Australia, Victoria.

I am interested in traveling/going abroad to become an au pair/nanny for a family. I wanted to make sure I am prepared for next year, as my start date would be march-June in 2025, so I am creating a profile early to hopefully find a host family. I am passionate about working with children and having their best interest in mind. I am 18, but I have experience with taking care of younger children since I was 14. I have 3 younger siblings, two of which are adopted. They are 8 and 9 and I would walk them to school, help them with school work and stay home with them when they were sick and my parents weren't available.
I also have experience working with special needs children, as my mum is a principle of a special school.

Experience

My experience as a nanny is doing babysitting jobs for younger children of my parents friends or relatives. My role would of consisted of 5-10 hours per day caring for two-three children on weekends. Cooking them meals, entertaining and playing with them, dressing them and putting them to bed. I would do this to earn extra pocket money and it was a very enjoyable and rewarding experience as I genuinely enjoyed spending time with the kids I babysat and would look forward to it. I have always been surrounded by younger kids such as my cousins or mums friends kids, and I was always more than happy to watch them and entertain them.

I would like to become an Au pair/ Nanny abroad as first of all it would allow me to travel, see the world and experience new things. But also the skills I would further gain from this role can open pathways for me in the future and allow me to realize what sort of future I want. The memories I gained from babysitting even as a 14-18 year old I will always cherish as I thoroughly enjoyed it and will hold those memories in high regard.
