Letter to the family

Hello dear host family,

My name is Lohany, I’m 20 years old and I’m originally from Brazil. I’ve been working as an Au Pair in California for the past year, taking care of a sweet 3-year-old girl and a lovely 5-year-old boy with autism. I consider myself calm, loving, responsible, and truly passionate about childcare.

I decided to become an Au Pair because I love being around children and I wanted to experience living in a new culture while improving my English. This year has been amazing, and I’m now looking forward to continuing this journey with a new host family — preferably in Florida (Miami area).

You should host me because I have over 1,800 hours of experience, I’m a strong driver with a California driver’s license, and I’m used to managing daily routines with patience and care. I always try to bring positivity and support to the family I live with.

I believe I qualify for this position because I already know what it means to be an Au Pair — the responsibilities, the challenges, and the joy. I speak English at an advanced level (C1), I’m reliable, respectful, and I truly care about the children I work with.

Experience

I’ve been working as an Au Pair in California, USA, for one year, taking care of two wonderful children — a 5-year-old boy with autism and a 3-year-old girl. My responsibilities include preparing meals, organizing fun and educational activities, helping with routines, and providing a safe, loving environment for the children. Through this experience, I’ve learned to be more patient, independent, and flexible.

Becoming an Au Pair abroad has been one of the best decisions of my life. It allowed me to improve my English, explore a new culture, and grow both personally and professionally. I chose this program because I love children and I wanted an international experience that would be meaningful and enriching. Now, I’m excited to continue this journey with a new family — sharing cultures, creating special memories, and continuing to grow while doing what I love: caring for children.
