Hello, my name is Miki! I was born in Vancouver, Canada, but moved to Japan at the age of 3 and spent 15 years in Tokyo. I have a younger sister whom I am very close with. I love to read, write and draw and will forever be an arts and crafts enthusiast. I love to bake and cook and I am very confident in my abilities to introduce hints of Japanese flavors into every dish I make. I am fluent in English and Japanese, and I have been in a constant position of teaching both languages to everyone around me my whole life! I know first hand what it is like to be limited by a language barrier, which is why I am currently trying to learn German.

I am interested in becoming an Au Pair because I need a way to stay in Europe while I learn German so I can apply to a German University. I am currently doing my first year of Bachelors in the Netherlands, but my financial situation is tight and I will not be able to afford next year's tuition, which is why I am in desperate need of free German education. I want to do Au Pair as a filler while I study to get accepted into a University and continue my studies of English Literature.

I believe I qualify because I am willing to do whatever it takes. It was a very long and stressful process to move abroad from Japan, and now that I managed to move here all alone, find a place to live, and pursue my degree, it would be a huge waste to have to move back and start all over again, which is why I am willing to do whatever my host family needs from me while I study and earn money for any expenses I will need after my Au Pair experience is finished. I am very good at keeping spaces tidy, I can cook, clean, take care of kids and pets and teach any subject necessary. I have worked with kids before and I am great at getting along with people.
