Who am I?
Emily, 21 years old, health and pediatric nurse in an intensive care unit (with a focus on premature babies) from Germany.

Why do I want to become an au pair?
This way of getting to know a country has always inspired me. Family life is very important to me and working with children in particular is more of a passion than a job for me. Because of all this and above all a feeling that has been with me for a long time, I don't think it's something I want to do, but something I have to do. Because this is my way.
Even my mother was an au pair when she was young and always talked a lot about that time. It was probably very formative for her and I also consider it a valuable experience to have lived in another country for a long time, with another family.

Why choose me?
I have wanted to be an au pair since I was very little ... I have dealt with the topic over and over again for years and now I think I am really ready for the challenges and responsibilities that this time brings with it.
Through my training and work experience, I have all the necessary qualifications and good prerequisites so that the parents of the host family can feel comfortable with me and know that their children are in good hands.
In addition to the qualifications in childcare, I am also quite fit in the household. Since I have already lived in shared apartments and the like for 2 years, i.e. I was responsible for laundry, cooking, cleaning and other household tasks, I am also able to take on such tasks without a long training period.
Since I have always liked the English language particularly well, I have also continued to develop linguistically. My language skills are certainly still far from perfect, but they are certainly good enough to ensure good communication with both parents and children right from the start. Since I learned from far away in a hospital with many patients, I also used the English language regularly at work.
