Marta (20 / Ms. ), Italian, Student living in Italy looking for Au Pair & Nanny job in China, Hong Kong, Jordan, Oman & Saudi Arabia for 1-4 Months

Dear Host Family,
My name is Marta and I am currently looking to become an international Au Pair.

I realized this was a dream of mine while volunteering as a childcare provider in Hanoi, Vietnam, at a pagoda welcoming orphan children to be raised by monks. From toddlers to middle schoolers, I worked in different contexts, sometimes providing English language support, other times simply taking care of children coming from difficult backgrounds.
This experience, while showing me how much I loved spending time with children and incorporating fun into learning experiences, also gave me insights on the responsibilities that come with being around younger people, which I am aware of and ready to take on.

I am currently completing my BSc in Finance in London, and before moving into a job in the Finance industry I want to further explore the world and pursue my passion of working with children. Being just twenty years old, I am aware that being like a big sister to younger children will both come with fun and responsibilities.

My friends have always described me as extremely outgoing and extroverted, and I enjoy socializing with people from a range of backgrounds. Having studied English, French, Arabic, Italian, Chinese, Spanish and German throughout my life, I deeply value the international network of friendships I have made during the years, and I strive to keep expanding it. Knowledge of such languages has not only helped me in connecting with people, but has also taught me to view the world from different perspectives, making me a more well-rounded individual. Aside from English, I am able to provide learning support in several of these other languages, both formally and informally through conversation with the children.

Living with me is really easy as I am a very flexible person. Moving to a new country to live alone at 18, combined with several experiences of solo traveling and volunteering across the world, have taught me to adapt to any living situation and be independent even in a foreign country.

Years of tutoring experience with a reputable agency, during which I supported over twenty students with their GCSE exams, IB curriculum, SAT preparation and university applications, prepared me to provide academic support to children of any age. Having developed a range of approaches to learning, tailored to each student’s needs, I will be able to best support any child with their academics with a bespoke approach.

My favorite way to spend my free time will always be to practice some kind of sport, especially with friends, and I am always excited to try new activities. From a simple hike, to snowboarding, to football; not only are sports a bonding experience, but they help in a person’s development, both physical and psychological. My favorite sport is windsurfing, which I have also spent summers teaching at a small water sports school in Greece. The adrenaline it gives is unmatched! Aside from windsurfing, I have practiced many sports in my life, and am always open to trying new ones.
