Letter to the family

My name is Gia , and I am a passionate, caring, and responsible young woman looking for a meaningful experience as an au pair. I would love to join your family for two months to help care for your children while introducing them to the French language in a natural and engaging way.

I am currently in my third year at Collège Claparède in Switzerland, working towards my Maturité Gymnasiale, a demanding diploma that provides a strong academic foundation. I am bilingual in French and English, having grown up in a multicultural home where we have always spoken both languages. My father is British, my mother is Dutch, and I have also lived in London for several years, which has given me full fluency in English.

Coming from a large family with three brothers—one older and two younger—I have always been surrounded by children. This upbringing has given me a strong sense of responsibility, patience, and a natural ability to connect with kids of all ages. Additionally, I have been regularly babysitting for families in Geneva for nearly two years, looking after children on weekends and weekday evenings. Whether it’s organizing fun activities, helping with homework, or ensuring a smooth bedtime routine, I am experienced in creating a warm and structured environment for children.

As an au pair, I would not only care for your children but also introduce them to French in a fun and immersive way, whether through daily conversations, games, or activities tailored to their level. For English-speaking families looking to expose their children to French, my presence would be ideal.

Beyond childcare, I am flexible, patient, and always attentive to the needs of both children and parents. I understand that daily life can be overwhelming, and my goal is to lighten your load by providing reliable support and ensuring your children are happy, safe, and engaged. Additionally, having grown up with animals, I would be more than happy to be in a home with pets!

I would love to discuss how I can be a great fit for your family and contribute positively to your children’s learning and well-being. Please feel free to reach out—I look forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Experience

I have extensive experience in childcare, having been regularly babysitting for multiple families in Geneva for nearly two years. I provide care on weekends and weekday evenings, adapting to different family routines and children’s needs. This has given me the ability to handle various responsibilities, from meal preparation and bedtime routines to organizing fun activities and helping with homework.

Growing up in a large family with three brothers—one older and two younger—I naturally developed a strong sense of responsibility and patience. I have always been surrounded by children and learned early on how to engage with them, keep them entertained, and ensure their well-being. This upbringing has helped me become someone who is attentive, nurturing, and capable of handling different situations with ease.

In addition to childcare, I have also been exposed to professional nannies throughout my childhood, which has given me a clear understanding of the standards and expectations required to provide excellent care. I know how to create a safe, structured, and positive environment, ensuring children feel secure and comfortable in my presence.

As a bilingual speaker in French and English, I also have experience incorporating language learning into childcare, naturally introducing children to French through play, daily conversations, and fun educational activities.

My experience in childcare has taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and adaptability, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with children, helping them learn, grow, and have fun in a safe and supportive setting.
