Although I haven't had the opportunity to work as an Au Pair yet, I have gained a lot of experience from looking after my younger siblings and working as a babysitter. Growing up with a sister six years younger then me taught me how to be responsible, patient, and assertive. I often had to share and adapt to her needs and I think that has truly taught me how to sacrifice your own for someone I love. The joy of having a little one around and seeing them progress everyday is truly extraordinary, and taking part of that process is very rewarding. Having siblings of different ages has also helped me to learn how to adapt to kids at various stages of development.
The reason why I want to do this abroad is because I am deeply passionate of foreign languages and think this is a great opportunity of cultural exchange. I'm really excited about the idea of joining a different family and see how they live in a dofferent country. I studied english, german and spanish and I'd love the chance to pick up a new language. To sum up, taking care of children while gaining more international experience sounds like the perfect combination for me.
