1. Who you are:
Hi! I’m a 21-year-old nursing student from Australia, currently halfway through my degree. I’m passionate about caring for others, love staying active through surfing, CrossFit, and running, and I have a naturally bubbly, warm, and adaptable personality. I’m also responsible, independent, and have experience managing a busy schedule — all skills I bring into my caregiving approach. I have grown up in a military family, so I have travel a fair bit around Australia, having to adapt to new places and people. I believe this has given me the desire to step outside my comfort zone and do new things.

2. Why you want to become an Au Pair & Nanny:
I want to become an Au Pair and Nanny because I genuinely love working with children and creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for them. As someone studying nursing, I’m drawn to roles that involve compassion, care, and building trust. I also see this as a great opportunity to immerse myself in another culture, grow personally, and contribute meaningfully to a family’s day-to-day life.

3. Why the candidate should host you:
You should host me because I’m reliable, positive, and committed to becoming a genuine part of your family. I bring strong communication skills, patience, and a proactive attitude to every situation. I’ll take care of your children with the same attention and kindness I’d give to my own family — whether that’s helping with routines, planning creative activities, or just being a supportive and fun presence in their lives.

4. Why you qualify for the position:
I qualify for this role because I have hands-on experience from my nursing studies, including working with children and vulnerable people. I’m first aid trained, responsible under pressure, and highly organized. I also have a natural rapport with kids, love being active, and have a flexible, can-do attitude that suits the dynamic nature of family life. I have also studied a bachelor of occupational therapy for two years, and have worked as a disability support worker for 3 years. I currently work as an educator at a primary school doing before and after school care. I have been immersed with caring for children since I was old enough to do so, and have loved every day of it!

Experience

I currently work in a primary school setting, providing before and after school care as well as vacation programs. This role has given me hands-on experience with children of various ages, helping support their development, manage daily routines, and create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. I’ve developed strong communication and emotional intelligence skills, and I’m confident in handling both the playful and more challenging sides of childcare.

Becoming an Au Pair and Nanny abroad combines two things I’m passionate about: working with children and experiencing new cultures. I’m drawn to the idea of being welcomed into a family’s life, contributing to the well-being and growth of their children, and at the same time, learning about different customs and ways of life. It’s a unique opportunity to form meaningful bonds, gain global experience, and grow personally and professionally. I see this as more than just a job—it’s an exchange of trust, learning, and connection.
