Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Sol, I’m 18 years old (turning 19 soon), and I’m currently studying Marketing at university. I come from a Spanish-speaking background, but I speak English fluently (C1 level), and I’m working on improving my French, which is currently around a B1 level.

This summer, I would love the opportunity to live in France as an Au Pair. I see it as the perfect way to immerse myself in a new culture, improve my French, and do something I truly enjoy—spending time with children.

I have always been surrounded by kids: I have a younger brother whom I’ve helped take care of for years, as well as young cousins. I’ve also looked after the children of my parents’ friends, so I’m used to being responsible, attentive, and creative when it comes to entertaining and caring for little ones.

I believe I’d be a good match for your family because I’m enthusiastic, open-minded, and genuinely curious about new cultures. I see this experience not only as a way for me to grow personally, but also to contribute to your family’s daily life with care, energy, and kindness.

Experience

Although I haven’t officially worked as an Au Pair yet, I have extensive experience taking care of children. I’ve helped raise my younger brother, and I’ve regularly looked after my younger cousins and the children of family friends. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to be responsible, patient, and creative in keeping children engaged and safe.

I would love to become an Au Pair abroad because I see it as a unique opportunity to grow both personally and culturally. Living with a host family would allow me to experience daily life in a new country, improve my language skills—especially French—and build strong connections with people from a different background. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children, and I believe this exchange can be enriching not only for me, but also for the family I’ll be supporting.
