Letter to the family

My name is Adam.
Currently I’m learning at a secondary school; this is my final year before, hopefully, going to university.
My intentions with being an Au Pair are to experience what it’s like to live in a foreign country and see the cultural side of that country, because I love all forms of culture, from music to literature through art. I enjoy meeting with new people, so this would be another aspect of this program that would benefit me.
I believe I could teach something new to a 1-year-old and to a 16-year-old child, whether in a cultural way or in the big things of life. With my the host shouldn’t just find an Au Pair for a period of time, they would have a friend from Hungary. I don’t have a whole lot of experience with child care, except what I taught to my little sister. She is now 14 years old, and I believe I taught her a few things, like the value of exploring new places or taking up new interests. As far as qualifications go, I truly love working with young children, and I believe I even possess the patience they require.

Experience

As an Au Pair, I would see the opportunity as a chance to truly immerse myself in a new culture while having a meaningful role within a family. It would be a unique way to build strong bonds with children and host parents, offering care and support in exchange for accomodations and the chance to learn a new language or enhance existing skills.
I love the idea of exploring a new country beyond just a tourist's perspective—being part of a family would allow me to experience daily life in a way that few visitors do. It’s not just about childcare; it’s about discovering the nuances of a culture, trying new things, and growing personally and professionally.
I’d also appreciate the chance to reflect on what it means to build connections with others in a completely different environment, which can be incredibly enriching.
