Dear Future Host Family,

Hello! My name is Asha, and I’m so excited to introduce myself. I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and I currently live just outside of Washington, DC. I’m about to graduate from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in Technology and Information Design. My career goal is to become a UX designer, with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design, something I’m deeply passionate about.

​​I come from a multicultural background, being both Indian and Black, which has shaped me into someone who’s open-minded, curious, and deeply appreciative of diverse perspectives. Growing up with a blend of traditions, languages, and values has helped me connect easily with people from all walks of life and fueled my interest in cultural exchange.

During my time at university, I’ve been actively involved in campus life, serving as the President of my honor society and contributing to several tech-focused organizations. Outside of academics, I’m someone who thrives on connection and creativity. I love cooking (vegetarian, of course!), exploring new neighborhoods and cities, discovering unique vegetarian restaurants, and meeting people from all walks of life.

One of the main reasons I want to become an au pair is because I love learning about different cultures through genuine, day-to-day experiences. I believe there’s no better way to grow and connect than by living with a family and sharing in their way of life. I want to learn more about your traditions, your stories, your meals, and your joys, and I’d love to share mine with you as well.

I’ve always loved being around children and believe there’s so much to learn from the way they see the world. I’m patient, open-minded, and curious, qualities that help me connect well with both kids and adults. I would be honored to support your family in your daily life and create fun, meaningful memories along the way.

What makes me a great candidate is my enthusiasm, reliability, and genuine interest in culture. I’m someone who values kindness, respect, and communication, and I approach every opportunity with a full heart and a willing spirit.
