I am 20, and have grown up in the north of England in North Yorkshire, living with my parents, sister and dog. I love, travelling, baking, reading, animals and sports. I would really appreciate the opportunity to become an Au Pair because I really enjoy working with children. Having always loved working with children, having worked with children both as a babysitter and in a teacher role I am eager to do everything, from helping with homework, crafting, baking, imaginary play or trips out. I would like to think I am hardworking and always tend to put 100% into everything I do. I am very patient, kind and am almost always smiling. I am also organised and have good time management skills. I completed school 2 years ago with GCSEs and 4 A* A levels, however due to illness I was forced to have to take a gap year before university and consequently was still unwell last September so was unable to start this academic year. However I am now fully recovered and plan to study Law hopefully at LSE or UCL in London next year. I have worked in a Cafe as a waitress, barrister and also I baked for them and ran a small baking business that supplied local shops and orders for personal celebrations. I also have a small dog walking and house sitting business. In addition I have worked as a swim teacher for children. I have also got both my bronze and gold Duke of Edinburgh award and am first aid trained. I have experience working with children such as:
I have volunteered as an swimming teaching assistant for children ages 3-7 for 4 years, which inspired me to gain my swimming teacher qualifications and I have taught swimming lessons for children aged between 3-10 for 4 months. Additionally I volunteered to help children in reception and pre prep read (ages 3&4) for 1 year and ran a cross country team for children 8-11 for 2 years. I have also babysat children 3-12. All of these has taught me children.They all me vital communication skills in interacting with children, how to manage difficult behaviour, learning not one child is alike therefore learning to be creative, open minded and patient when creating new ideas or games to engage children. Importantly it showed me the importance of making everything fun!
