Letter to the family

Hi. I am Abigail and I am from New Zealand. I have been wanting to be an Au Pair/Nanny since I was at high school - so about 5ish years. I love children and I’ve always loved babysitting my younger cousins and the idea of being able to do that whilst also being immersed in a new culture completely different from my own is something that I’d love to experience. I think you should choose me to help within your household because I love looking after kids and adore being apart of their development. I think it’s so important to be that positive influence in a young developing child. I qualify for this position because firstly I have a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Educational Psychology as well as Dilpomas in Counselling and Mental Health. Alongside this I also worked for a few months as an early childhood reliever in day care centres so I have had some extra experience in looking after young children.

Experience

I think being an Au Pair/Nanny would be an incredible experience as it would not only give me more experience in childcare but also it would allow me to experience a different culture. By being immersed within a family it would allow me to experience new culture in a more authentic way rather than a “touristy” way.
