Letter to the family

Hello dear future host family,

My name is Montse, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Cuba. I studied two years of Medical School before discovering my passion for psychology, which I’m currently pursuing. Alongside my studies, I work as a cashier at a small local business, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and a sense of responsibility.

I’m excited about the opportunity to travel and grow through a meaningful cultural exchange as an au pair and live-in tutor.

I truly enjoy spending time with children. I’ve helped raise my little cousin since she was a baby, and I’ve also worked as a Sunday school teacher at my church. I’m a patient, cheerful, and responsible person who loves to create positive connections and share joy with others. I also help with English–Spanish translation at church, and sometimes assist others with school subjects when they need support.

I’m an ENFP/INFP personality, which means I’m naturally empathetic, creative, and love to help people grow. My background in both medical and psychological studies allows me to understand children’s emotional needs and development in a deeper way.

I also love animals and have two pets of my own (my dog, Hara, and my cat, Taeyeong). They’re my beloved babies, so I’d be more than happy to help care for your family’s pets too!

I would also love to learn your language while staying with you. I’m very motivated and curious about new cultures, and I believe learning your language will help me connect more deeply with you and your children.

Being an au pair means much more to me than just a job, it’s a chance to become part of your family, support your children’s growth, and experience your culture from the heart. I would love to share my language, traditions, and creativity with you, and learn from yours as well!

Looking forward to starting this adventure together,
Warm regards,
Montse

Experience

Although I’m new to the au pair program, I have hands-on experience taking care of my 4-year-old cousin since she was a baby and teaching children at Sunday School in my church. These experiences taught me how to be patient, creative, and supportive when engaging with young minds. Also, I sometimes work as a translator at my church (English to Spanish and vice versa) to help everyone communicate with foreign brothers and sisters who come to our church. And sometimes I tutor my friends and family in English or other school subjects when they need help.

Right now I’m studying psychology, after having done two years of medical school, and that’s given me tools to understand and support children better, emotionally and mentally.
