My name is Megan and I am a passionate Aupair coming off a super successful Aupair year in the Netherlands. My great Aupair experience has led me to decide to find another family (and another adventure!) for the next year!

I am ending my time with my lovely Dutch host family. In this year I have cared for three children aged: 6, 8, and 10 (and 9 month old puppy!)
Some of the tasks I performed included: preparing lunchboxes and backpacks for kids, taking/picking kids up from school, coordinating playdates and activities, walking the dog, preparing dinner, light household chores.

A little bit more about me: I graduated with my Bachelors of Science back in the USA in May 2024. I took a leap of faith and right after graduation moved to Netherlands to begin my gap year. During this year I have truly fallen in love with my host family and the opportunity to grow and connect with them. The main reason I attribute the success of my past year was the time I devoted to the family. Often my extra free time was spent around the kids—attending their hockey games, joining social events, crafting or baking, and above all showering them with love. I really tried from the beginning to build their trust and show that I cared about them, beyond my "scheduled" working hours. I really want to feel like family!

My love for Europe began when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy in Spring 2023 and has only flourished as I've spent more time here! During my time in the Netherlands, I immersed myself with the Dutch language and culture, formed meaningful relationships, and mastered biking in all seasons. My hope for my next host family is that I feel welcomed and included and get to enjoy a new culture!
