Letter to the family
My name is Gökçe, and I am a 22-year-old woman from Turkey. I consider myself enthusiastic, responsible, and passionate about working with children, exploring different cultures, and making a difference wherever I go. I come from a close family, and I have two younger siblings, which have made kin keeping and caring for children possible. When I am with children, I do anything from helping out with their homework, playing games, or just hanging out with them. Creating an environment where they feel safe and have fun is so important to me.
I have over 300 hours of nanny experience, caring for children, which has taught me patience, creativity, and trust-building skills with both children and their families. I also worked as a private tutor, teaching English and maths to kids and teenagers to support myself during university. This gave me the opportunity to develop great communication and teaching skills while deepening my interest in mentoring and helping young people grow.
I have spent 5 months volunteering in Portugal and Italy as an English tutor, working with children and teens from very different backgrounds. This fantastic experience allowed me to adapt to new cultures, enhanced my language skills, and build meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. Besides working with kids, I also volunteered at an animal shelter, so I am good with pets and am happy to help care for them in your household.
I am currently graduating this semester from university, which has taught me discipline, time management, and the joy of lifelong learning. When not studying, I very much enjoy cooking and take great pride in preparing delicious and healthy meals. Also, I adore learning about other cultures, be it through food, traditions, or languages, and I'm very excited to share my Turkish culture while learning about yours.
Becoming an au pair, therefore, is an exciting opportunity for me to merge my affinity for caring for children with my proclivity for venturing into a new culture, acquiring a new language, and settling into the arms of a welcoming host family. I look forward to being of help to you as a consistent hand with your children and daily household activities.
I am a quick learner, flexible, and ready for any new challenges. I believe a positive mindset, commitment, and all my experience with children and teens make me the right person to join your family. I very much hope to have the chance to become part of your lives and create beautiful memories together!
