MY LETTER TO MY FUTURE HOST FAMILY.

Dear host family,
My name is Stephanie, but my friends and family call me Tep. I am a 24 years old girl and I live in Quinolpan, a small town in San Enrique, Iloilo City, a beautiful country in Philippines.
I am an open-minded, hard-working, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and responsible person. I love taking care of kids and elderly and their health, safety, and happiness are the most important to me.

I belong in a harmonious family. I have a good relationship with my parents and with my siblings also. I am the eldest in the family, so I assume the responsibility if my parents are not around. I serve as a role model to my siblings. I have two siblings, a 23-year old sister who is currently working as an assistant to a doctor and a 10 year old sister who is in elementary school. We have a very small convenience store as a source of income and managed by my parents. I do most of the household chores, help my siblings with their lessons and answer questions if they have. I really think that I can perform the job very well knowing that I do have an experience when it comes to children and elderly.

I recently graduated from Miriam Iloilo Training Center, where I completed my caregiver training. I love traveling, learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new people, and definitely making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations. I studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing before but I wasn't able to continue due to the pandemic and financial issues.

I would describe my strength as an Aupair as the ability to bond really well with kids and also blending in very easily and as a result being able to be their mentor in different aspects of life and also be like their big sister, also the ability to learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, I would describe my weakness as an Aupair is that I have a hard time letting go of something or someone because I get too attached to children especially and hence becomes emotionally hard to detach from them. I am searching for a host family, that would be happy to have me as part of the family, be kind, welcoming and who are willing to learn new culture and language. I am looking for a long time stay with my host family, for 1year or more depending on the connection formed with the family.
