Letter to the family

My name is Weronika and I’m a 20-year-old from Poland. I love to learn and to travel, but more importantly - I love to connect with people, because without that connection, places are just… places. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit some countries, and meet amazing people that changed my world, and I feel like paying this kindness forward is what I want to do. I have two amazing nieces in England that I love dearly and have helped to take care of since the oldest was one, and I’ve also lived with two incredible boys in the US, creating life-long memories with them and therefore, gaining another family across the ocean :) Back home in Poland, I care for my grandmother, who’s in her seventies. She showed me so much love when I was younger, and now it feels like such a privilege to give her the same amount of care whenever I have an occasion to do so. I would also call myself creative — I have a background in graphic design and I always try to use my skills in some important way, for example, I’ve created graphics for social campaigns, and I’m working on e-learning platform for children.

I want to be an Au Pair/a caregiver, because this role would allow me to do everything I love — help others, make an impact and be out in the world. Being there for others feels rewarding and gives me genuine happiness, I wouldn’t be able to imagine a better opportunity to do so.

Hosting me means having someone who is adaptable, responsible and genuinely passionate about caring for others. Having so many experiences in my life have taught me how to be flexible and confident in any situation. I’m no stranger to responsibility, and I am able to take care of kids, elders and pets (I have two cats!), as well as do housework and cook. I can drive a car and navigate any place, as long as it has internet access :) I’m also an excellent problem solver who can think quickly in a stressful situation, even though I love fun, I put safety first. I would also call myself creative, which means there never will be a lack of activities.

Experience

I’ve had a lot of experience through my family and personal life. I’ve helped to take care of my two nieces in England since they were very young, supporting them in their everyday life, from playing with them to helping out with their everyday routines and teaching them new concepts, like animals or shapes. Being involved in their lives has taught me how to care for toddlers and how to be patient, responsible and nurturing. While I was in the US, I had the privilege to help to take care of two young boys, six and eight years old, which required not only responsibility but also a lot of creativity and energy to keep the kiddos engaged and happy.

In addition, in Poland, I’ve cared for my grandmother, who’s in her seventies and has health issues. Whenever I have the opportunity, I help her with taking her medicine, feeding, and bathing her, as well as assisting with other tasks and ensuring her house and pets are well taken care of.
