Letter to the family
Hello! My name is Lucía and I am a student who has just finished my second year of high school. Next year, I will begin studying History at university.
I am 16 years old and a rather introverted person, but that doesn’t affect my ability to adapt and get along well with others. I have a great love for literature, and in my free time, I enjoy writing. I consider myself someone with good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I also enjoy cooking and have developed good culinary abilities.
As for languages, I am fluent in both Spanish and English. I also have a certified B1 level in French and am currently preparing to take the B2 exam.
I would love to become an Au Pair because I see it as a wonderful experience that will help me grow both personally and academically. Not only will it allow me to improve my language skills—which is undoubtedly my main goal—but it will also help me gain independence and adapt to life away from home.
I am truly excited about the idea of immersing myself in a new culture. As someone passionate about the humanities, I find the opportunity to experience daily life in a different country incredibly fascinating. I believe this experience will not only enrich my knowledge but also broaden my perspective on the world.
Naturally, I wouldn’t consider becoming an Au Pair if I didn’t believe this experience could be mutually enriching. I find children fascinating; their creativity and curiosity are qualities I truly admire. As someone who enjoys storytelling and has a natural sensitivity, I connect well with them and always strive to create a positive and engaging environment. I believe my ability to communicate and adapt allows me to contribute meaningfully to their learning and daily routines.
Hosting me as an Au Pair means welcoming a responsible, adaptable, and patient individual who values cultural exchange and creating a positive environment for children.
I understand that every family has its own approach to parenting, and I am fully prepared to adapt to their expectations. If screen time is limited, I can engage children in other enriching activities such as reading, creative projects, or outdoor play.
I am highly organized, independent, and capable of handling new situations with a calm and solution-oriented mindset. Additionally, my multilingual skills allow me to contribute to a child’s language development in a natural and enjoyable way.
This experience is an opportunity for both personal and professional growth, and I am eager to integrate into a household where I can contribute positively while learning from my host family.
I believe I qualify for this position due to my strong sense of responsibility, adaptability, and my passion for working with children. I have practical experience working as a babysitter for my younger cousin over the course of seven months, where I was responsible for her daily care, planning activities, and ensuring her well-being. This experience has helped me develop patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of how to engage and connect with children.
In addition to my hands-on experience, I am fluent in Spanish and English, and I am currently improving my French, which allows me to communicate effectively with children from various backgrounds. I am confident in my ability to adapt to household routines, including those that limit screen time, and provide children with engaging, educational activities.
Overall, my experience as a caregiver, my commitment to personal growth, and my ability to adapt make me a strong candidate for the Au Pair position.
