Letter to the family

Hello! My name is Gracious, and I am from Maryland USA. I’m looking forward to spending about 3 amazing months in France, living out my dream of experiencing French culture firsthand while being part of a wonderful family.

A little bit about me: I’m 19 years old (turning 20 this August) and currently in my final semester of college, where I’m studying to become a registered nurse (RN). After graduation, I plan to specialize as a Pediatric Nurse because I love working with children. Graduating early has given me the unique opportunity to explore new cultures, which is why I’m so excited about the idea of living in France and immersing myself in its culture.

I have always loved working with kids. Aside from babysitting, I have a part time job as a party princess. I have always been told I work well with kids because of my bubbly personality.

Family is incredibly important to me, and I would be honored to be a part of yours. I’m happy to assist with light housework, help care for your children, and bring a warm and positive presence to your home. I look forward to creating wonderful memories together, sharing experiences, and being a supportive addition to your family during my stay.

Experience

My mother lived in France when she was my age and I have always loved hearing the stories she tells me. I have always known that being abroad was something that I wanted to do. I am graduating college soon which I why I believe this is a wonderful opportunity to make life-long memories, forge friendships, and enrich myself in French culture abroad.

I would expect my host family to be communicative about their needs and expectations for me as their au pair. Additionally, I would like there to be a fair balance between work and free time. I want this to be a great experience for everyone which is why having clear communication from the start is important to me!
