Letter to the family

My name is Michelle, and I am a 25-year old danish girl.

I love spending time with children, playing around, getting creative, helping with homework etc. I have three younger brothers (age 13, 11 and 10) myself, whom I have taken care of every weekend from morning to evening when they were kids. My parents were both working in the weekends, and therefore i did the cooking, cleaning and taking care of my brothers. One of my lovely brothers sadly has a severe brain damage, and by taking care of him, I became really patient and tolerant (as he could not do anything by himself and needed 24/hour care). I also worked in a childrens toy store for five years, which gave me a good understanding of what children like to play with at certain ages, it sparked my imagination and it gave me a lot of joy to be able to make children happy and host a lot of creative events like dress up parties, drawing competitions etc at the store. Generally it just gives me so much joy, spending time with children - they are often so straight forward and have such an idealist world-view that many adults have lost. When I was a kid, I LOVED going to school (and I still do), and I was always a good and responsible student, therefore I would love to help with any homework etc, which I often do with my brothers.

Since I am 25, I have been living by myself or with roommates, the last seven years, so I am very responsible when it comes to cleaning the house, cooking etc, and I am super independent. I am a very open person who are just really curious about the world and never want to stop learning. I am super positive, and I love coming up with new fun things to do, which I think the children would enjoy. Furthermore, I would like to say, that I have just returned to Copenhagen (my home town) after a semester abroad in sunny California (San Diego). Therefore, I would say that my English skills are somewhat good - I mostly speak english at my apartment in Copenhagen too, since I share it with four others, and one of them is from Poland, and another one from Manchester.

I want to be honest - My French skills are very limited(I can present my self and know basic words, sentences etc, but that is about it), my English is good - so I hope that you are looking for an English-speaking nanny. Why search for a job in France, then? You might think, but the thing is, that I really really love the French culture, language, food and I am eager to experience it and learn all I possibly can. I am normally very good at learning new languages, and I would of course try to improve my french.

A little bit about me:
I am currently studying journalism and communication at Roskilde University in Denmark, but I am on a study break until august 2020, before I have to write my master thesis. I love reading, writing, taking long walks, horseback riding, going to museums, cooking, listening to music. As a part of my study, I have worked full time as a journalist on the big Danish womens-magazine called femina, which I really enjoyed, but for me it was too much time starring into a screen - I really want to work more with people. I am down to earth, openminded, helpful, patient and creative! In principle, I could start in february or march, and I could stay till august or beginning of september, so 6 months would probably be the most fitting for me.

To summ up:

I would be qualified for the position as a nanny/u pair because I am

- Responsible, patient and tolerant
- Love being around children and doing creative stuff.
- Well educated
- Openminded, positive and creative
- I have lived by myself for a long time, so I am independent and have all required skills.

I hope that you are curious and want to hear some more about me.

Have a nice day!

- Michelle
