Bru (17 / Ms. ), Croatian, living in Croatia looking for Au Pair job in France for 1-4 Months

Hi there! My name’s Bru, I’m 17 and from Croatia. I’m finishing high school now and planning to spend my gap year abroad before I go on to study business. By the time I’d be with your family, I’ll be 18 and ready to jump into this experience.

I grew up speaking both Croatian and English, and I’m fluent in German too. Right now, I’m learning French, and a big part of why I want to be an au pair is to improve my French while being part of a new culture.

I’ve always loved spending time with kids and feel like I connect with them easily. I’ve had lots of chances to babysit for family and friends, looking after kids from babies up to 12-year-olds. Those experiences have taught me a lot about being patient, responsible, and understanding of different family dynamics. I also feel comfortable being around teenagers—I know exactly what it’s like to be in a teen’s mind, and I think I’m pretty good at understanding and supporting them. I’m a good listener and love being there for someone when they need emotional support.

I’m a social person and love meeting new people, but I also know when it’s time to slow down and enjoy some quiet. I love drawing—it’s something I turn to when I need to relax—and I’m a big fan of music, especially R&B and older classics.

I’ll admit, I’ve got a playful side and still enjoy games that are usually “for kids.” It’s part of what makes me click with children—I can just dive into their world and have fun with them.

What I Can Bring to Your Family:
- Childcare: I’ve got experience with kids of all ages and can help with things like homework, playtime, and bedtime.
- Teenager Support: I understand the ups and downs of being a teenager, and I’m here to listen, provide advice, or just be someone they can talk to.
- Household Help: I’m happy to pitch in with light cooking, cleaning, and especially baking. Baking with kids is one of my favorite things to do (it’s always fun, even if it gets messy!).
- Homework Support: I’m comfortable helping kids or teens with their schoolwork and making it a bit less stressful for them (and for you).

Why I Want to Be an Au Pair:
I think being an au pair is an amazing way to spend my gap year. I get to improve my French, explore a new culture, and be around kids and teens, which I genuinely enjoy. I know how overwhelming parenting can be at times—especially for single parents—so I’d love to be there to help out, whether that’s by looking after the kids, supporting your teen, or lending a hand around the house.
