Letter to the family

Hi! My name is Kate and I am an 18 year old student from the UK looking to improve my French skills during my gap year before I go on to study French and Arabic at university next year.
I have lots of experience working with children and I think that being an au pair would be a fantastic way to submerge myself in a new culture and way of life.
I am friendly, hard working and happy to step out of my comfort zone and experience new places and opportunities.
For the past two years I have worked as a gymnastics coaching assistant, coaching under 11s and SEN gymnasts, I also have 2 months work experience in a primary school and lots of experience babysitting my young family members.
I think I would be a great au pair as I have a fun personality and am very active. I am sure that I would fit in well to any fun and friendly family.

Experience

I am a qualified British Gymnastics Helper and have worked as a gymnastics coaching assistant for two years coaching an under 11s class and a class for children with additional needs. At this role, I coached and supported young children and ensured they had fun and safe gymnastics sessions. Working in a sporting environment with young children has made me confident working with children and keeping them safe.

For two months, I worked in the reception at a primary school helping children with activities such as phonics and crafts and overseeing play times.

I have also worked for two years at a cafe which has a pottery studio and hosts parties for children. I have hosted many parties with up to 30 children and loved chatting with them and helping them with their pottery painting.

I would like to become an au pair because I enjoy working with children and I would like to improve my French skills. I have an A grade A Level in French and am planning to go on to study French and Arabic at university and become an interpreter. I am looking for fun work experience in a French speaking area in my gap year and I would love being an au pair.
