Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Lexie, and I’m a soon-to-be graduate of the University of Virginia, where I’ve studied politics with a strong interest in language and culture. I’ve been learning French for over six years—including through my current intermediate-level university course—and I’m eager to keep improving by immersing myself in a French-speaking environment. Becoming an au pair feels like the perfect next step: it allows me to combine my love for children, language, and learning in a meaningful and hands-on way.

I’ve always found joy in caring for children. I currently babysit every week, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite parts of my routine. I love how curious, funny, and energetic kids can be—and how every day with them feels different. I’m also CPR certified and worked as a phlebotomist during college, so I’m comfortable in high-responsibility situations and know how to stay calm and focused when needed. I’m happy to help with children of any age and number, and I’m also very comfortable with pets!

What I hope to bring to your home is reliability, warmth, and a genuine eagerness to be part of your family life. I’m excited to lend a helping hand, whether that means playing games, preparing meals, tidying up, or assisting with schoolwork. I’d also love to share a bit of my own culture and language if your children are interested, and I’ll be equally thrilled to learn from you.
