Letter to the family

I am a 19 year old girl and am currently in my first year studying biological science at the University of Exeter. I play many sports, most notably hockey in which I am part of the high performance program at my university.
Having the opportunity to au pair will help me develop many skills that will come into use when I enter the workforce including communication skills, leadership and responsibility, and emotional intelligence to name a few. What an invaluable experience to be able to nurture these attributes whilst helping out a family.
As the youngest of four with working parents, I’m used to managing a busy household. I value cleanliness and am very organised due to my tight schedule around sports. I’m easy-going, adaptable, and would bring a positive, responsible attitude to your family.
I have many past experiences when it comes to working with young children. On top of numerous babysitting roles, I have also helped run children’s tennis camps where I was able to show off my creativity and responsibility skills by coming up with fun games for the kids to play throughout the week long camps. Due to my history in sports, I have been able to develop my leadership skills, captaining my high school hockey team to reaching nationals, coming third overall which is the highest my school has reached. Hockey has allowed me to be part of lots of different teams and I’m so grateful with the experiences it has brought.

Experience

Becoming an au pair is a great opportunity for me to immerse myself in a new culture, improve my language skills, and gain valuable childcare experience. It will help me grow personally by becoming more independent and adaptable, while also allowing me to travel affordably. I’m excited about the chance to develop new skills and make a positive impact on a child’s life while experiencing life in a different country.
