Letter to the family

Dear host family

It's an honor to draft this profile for you where by I'll let you know about me and my experience both as a junior school tutor and a nanny

My name is Ivyn Rochelle a 22 year old hardworking young lady from Kenya a country in Africa, but I'm currently in Martinique Forte de France. I am born in a family of 4, one sister, Mum Dad and I.

The first reason why I want to be an aupair is because of the love that I have for children, I don't know how to say it but I have this soft spot for children, I've always loved taking care of children, be close to them and be able to answer all their fantasies and questions.

And now when it comes to my childcare experience, I spend most of my time at the kindergarten where I used to work more than a year ago, I volunteer abit when it comes to helping with the children, I got a call from the headmistress who commended me for a job well done the last time I was there and she requested if I could come back and spend time with the children as I used to

My job at the kindergarten as a tutor includes
Helping with homeworks, teaching them class work which includes helping them with forming simple English sentences, writing the sentences, making drawings and colorful paintings reading them story books, asking them questions on what we've read, play on bouncing castles, play games for instance : hide and seek( most of them really enjoy playing hide and seek), at times I also settle quarrels amongst them and play out door games with them.
I focus majorly on their classwork which is making sure they are learning the English subject perfectly and the fieldwork activities
That's also the same place where i got to do practical training on how to handle children both indoors and outdoors.

Initially just after working as a tutor at my current place I also worked as a nanny for almost 6 months I have more than 12000hrs of work experience.
As a nanny I also helped with kids' homework, reading them stories, cooking their favorite meals, baking with them (with baking I had to be very careful with the children and the equipment because kids can at times be very playful with everything)I'd also pick them up from school, take them on walks, change their diapers, dress them up and also read them bedtime stories.
Other of my duties as a nanny included cleaning the house, doing laundry, cooking, feeding the children amongst other duties .

Being a first born too I have to always take care of my younger ones so taking care of children is never a problem, it comes naturally.

The reason why you should consider me as your aupair is because I'm easy with children and very patient with them : with kids patience should be one of the main factors when it comes to taking care of them.
Due to my caring nature, host families shouldn't have a problem leaving their children under my care, the children will always be my number one priority.
I expect to have a fantastic experience with my host family and the new country.
I can't wait to exchange ideas and share new experiences with my host family.

Another important topic is about PUNISHING A CHILD OR RATHER DISCIPLINING THEM
When they do wrong, I've never advocated for hitting/beating up children or scolding them, I'm against it.
I belive a child is very smart and vulnerable, whatever you say to them stick in their mind, talking to them calmly and letting them know that what they did was wrong is one of the best ways of disciplining a child
I'd also like to know how you discipline your children.
I also did my driving exam and passed, I have a driving licence with experience on the road, I attended first aid class too while in school.
I can work independently and with others. I speak fluent English, basic German and basic French and I'm always ready to learn new languages
I am an enthusiastic person who loves cooking, watching movies and doing outdoor activities

My family's idea of me being an aupair was received open mindedly, they always have my back and want what's best for me.

Thank you soo much for going through my profile, I hope I'm your perfect match, the right person who would fit as one of your family members
I wish you a blessed month and year full of happiness and blessings.

Experience

Having worked as a tutor I've gathered vast knowledge and experience on a lot and I'd like to explore more on childcare and caregiver jobs

Having done journalism and media as a course I'd be delighted to tell stories on my field of work as a childcare expert and a caregiver

Becoming an aupair abroad will open my mind more on people's way of life and it'll be a great experience having to share ideas and plans with new people, it will also help me interact more with different people, share my culture with them, the food we eat and cook in Africa and vice versa.
