Letter to the family

Dear future host family,

My name is Anastazja (Ana), and I’m a qualified primary school teacher from Poland with several years of experience working with both young and school-age children. I’ve taught in international and language school settings — including three years at a Helen Doron English centre — and I currently work at a private international school that follows the Cambridge curriculum.

I’m excited about the opportunity to become an Au Pair and/or Live-in Tutor because I would love to immerse myself fully in Italian culture and language, which I’ve recently started learning. I visited Italy twice last year and felt such a strong connection to the country that I’ve been hoping to move there ever since.

You might be looking for someone warm, calm, and responsible — someone who truly understands children (or at least genuinely tries to!) and can bring structure, safety, fun, creativity, and care to their day. I believe I can offer that. I’m near-native in English, having studied and lived in the UK, worked in English-speaking environments, and consumed almost exclusively English-language media for many years.

Thank you for considering me. I’d be happy to become part of your family’s routine and bring positive energy, creativity, and, if needed, educational support to your home.

Warmly,
Anastazja

Experience

While I haven’t worked as an official Au Pair before, I do have meaningful experience caring for young children in a nanny role and supporting children more generally through my work as a teacher. Before starting my teaching career, I worked for nearly two years as a nanny — first with a one-year-old, and later with a 3–4-year-old girl, with whom I developed a strong bond. I have excellent references from her family.

In addition to this, I have a younger brother with special needs, and supporting him has always been a part of my daily life. Growing up alongside him has taught me patience, sensitivity, and how to adapt to a child’s individual needs — skills that have carried over into both my personal and professional life.

For the past several years, I’ve also been working as a one-to-one English tutor outside of the classroom, which helped me develop strong communication skills and a deep understanding of how to motivate and guide children in a personalized and caring manner.

Becoming an Au Pair or Live-in Tutor abroad appeals to me because it combines many things I love: working closely with children, being part of a family routine, and learning about a new culture and language. I see it as a meaningful way to contribute my skills while immersing myself in Italian life — something I’ve been hoping to do for a while now.
