My name is Amanda, and I hope to become your next au pair! First, a little bit about me: I grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois, then attended Princeton University for my college education, where I majored in English Literature and received certificates in Creative Writing and American Studies. I'm the sort of person who loves a good book, but also a day spent outdoors in nature!

I am interested in becoming an Au Pair and Live-in Tutor due primarily to my passion for educating and working with children. I really enjoy helping children learn and grow, and most of my work experience in is educational and/or childcare settings. Additionally, I love exploring new places, immersing myself in new cultures, and learning new languages. So, an au pair position is an ideal fit for my disposition.

I'm comfortable working with children of various age groups, interests, and personality types. Due to my academic tutoring experience, I also offer expertise in various subject matters, from art to science to literature. Since I grew up with a large family (I have 3 siblings of my own!), I am neat and easy to get along with. Therefore, I would be a pleasant and agreeable person to host.

I believe that I am well-qualified for the position due to my extensive work experience (more details below). Over the years, I've held several positions in childcare and education, from nannying to tutoring to interpreting for Spanish-speaking students in American schools. I've even taught in rural Alaska through the AmeriCorp program. Overall, my adaptability, experience, and enthusiasm make me a qualified candidate for many au pair positions.

With ample experience in the United States, I am now interested in expanding my experience in childcare and education to the greater world. One of my goals is to learn more about how academics function outside of my home country. Since I'm interested in eventually becoming a teacher or professor, my time as an Au Pair abroad will inform the country and/or countries in which I hope to live and work in my later career.
