Hi, I'm Marica, I'm 19 years old and I come from Italy.
I'm currently studying in the capital, Rome; I attend university and I study peace sciences of international cooperation. It's easy to deduce how the Au Pair experience can be a way to improve my language skills, which will be essential for my future career.
I've always liked taking care of and spending time with children: I was a babysitter in an Italian family for about two years, with a 6-month-old baby (now 3 years old); I regularly attend social and community centers such as the oratory, where I have the role of entertainer and educator with children from 4 to 12 years old.
I have already had several experiences abroad where a great sense of adaptation was required: mainly in Panama, where I was a guest of three families for a few weeks, both in the capital and in the villages where I served.
I speak Italian very well, as it is my mother tongue, I have studied English and Spanish, basic-intermediate level.
I like cooking, reading and studying in company, singing, drawing, playing sports and taking long walks, spending time outdoors but also watching films and TV series.

I would like to become an Au Pair because travelling and discovering new cultures is my passion, and at the same time I would like to improve my language skills for my future career. My studies are also quite expensive so I need a salary to help my parents cover the expenses.
After many trips I understood that to get to know a culture well you can't look at it from the outside like tourists do, but you have to live it fully, immerse yourself completely and become an integral part of it, just like you do living in a family.
I can handle myself quite well in difficult, stressful and uncomfortable situations.
I like relating to children because I have had proof that they are much smarter than adults and that you can learn much more from them than you can imagine; so what other teachers could I choose if not them?
