Letter to the family

Hi! I’m Emily, 18 years old, and I’ve spent the past few years working as a nanny, babysitter and camp counselor. I’ve looked after kids of all ages — from babies to pre-teens — and I’ve learned how to keep things fun, safe, enriching and structured (even when things get a little chaotic).

I want to become an Au Pair & Nanny abroad because I’m excited about the idea of living in a new country, getting to know a different culture and doing something I already enjoy: working with kids. It feels like the perfect mix of something familiar and something new.

Families should host me because I’m reliable, responsible and easy to get along with. I know how to step up when things get busy, and I’m also pretty great at keeping kids engaged, whether that’s helping with homework, organizing games or just being someone they can talk to.

I qualify for this position because I’ve got real hands-on experience, a calm attitude and a strong work ethic. I take this kind of role seriously, but I also know how to have fun with it.

Experience

I’ve spent two summers as a full-time nanny for two kids and have years of experience as a camp counselor and teacher’s assistant at a top private school. I’ve also done a lot of babysitting over the years, which has helped me build confidence in everything from handling meltdowns to planning fun, structured days. I’ve worked with a range of ages and personalities, and I genuinely enjoy creating a positive, safe environment for kids to grow and be themselves.

Becoming an Au Pair and Nanny abroad is a chance to do what I already love in a completely new setting. I’m excited to step outside my comfort zone, connect with a new culture and be part of a family’s everyday life while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
