Dear Host Family,

My name is Bethany, I’m 20 years old, and I come from a big, loving family with five siblings—two of whom have special needs (one with autism and one with cerebral palsy). Growing up in such a supportive and dynamic household has taught me patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different needs and personalities—qualities I believe are essential for being a great Au Pair and Nanny.

I am passionate about working with children and excited by the opportunity to live and grow within a new culture. Becoming an Au Pair isn’t just about travel for me—it’s about building meaningful connections, contributing positively to a family’s daily life, and gaining a deeper understanding of the world. I’ve already had a taste of this when I worked abroad in America for three months, an experience where I truly thrived both personally and professionally.

You should consider hosting me because I am warm, responsible, and genuinely care about children’s wellbeing. I have hands-on experience supporting children with a variety of needs, and I’m confident in my ability to create a nurturing and joyful environment where kids feel safe, understood, and inspired to grow.

In my free time, I love reading and writing, swimming, and wandering through foreign countries. I dream of learning multiple languages and travelling to many more places around the world. Becoming an Au Pair is not only a chance to share my energy and care with your family, but also to live the kind of life I’ve always dreamed of—filled with cultural exchange, curiosity, and kindness.

Experience

I have gained extensive informal childcare experience through my own family life. Growing up as one of six siblings, I’ve spent years helping to care for my younger brothers and sisters, including one with autism and another with cerebral palsy. This has given me a deep understanding of how to support children with different needs—emotionally, physically, and socially. I’ve learned to be patient, observant, and adaptable, all while maintaining a caring and positive attitude.

While I haven't officially held the title of “Au Pair” before, I have already worked abroad in America for three months in a demanding, fast-paced environment, where I thrived both personally and professionally. That experience showed me how much I enjoy being immersed in new cultures, forming connections with people from different backgrounds, and stepping outside my comfort zone.

I would love to become an Au Pair & Nanny abroad because I see it as a meaningful way to combine my passion for childcare with my love for travel, learning languages, and exploring new cultures. I’m excited by the idea of becoming part of a new family, building trust and friendship, and helping children learn and grow while also expanding my own horizons. This experience will not only allow me to give back and support a family, but also help me grow into a more independent, open-minded, and globally aware person.
