Letter to the family

Dear host family,

Im a 18-year-old (soon to be 19) Finnish girl looking for a lovely host family to have me as an au pair. I see being an au pair as an amazing opportunity to learn about other cultures, which has always been a passion of mine. As an au pair I wish to integrate into your family and build meaningful relationships at the same time as experiencing a new culture.

I would love to be a big sister figure to your children; for example teach them English, help them with homework, help them get ready for school, take them and pick them up from school, help with basic household chores such as cooking and tidying up and overall just be there for them. I would describe myself as outgoing, responsible and reliable person.

My mother language is Finnish. I speak English fluently (C2-level) and I'd be happy to teach it to your children <3 I also speak Swedish well and a little bit of French. I have always been really fast at picking up new languages and I'd love to learn a new one!

Im currently having a gap year; I graduated high school in June with excellent grades and at the moment work in retail. I have a lot of experience in working with different kinds of people and I enjoy customer service jobs. Previously I have worked at a restaurant and a couple other clothing stores.

I would like to start in January-March 2025 and end in May-July 2025.

Experience

Being au pair has always been a dream of mine. I think that being an au pair is one of the best ways to learn about different cultures! I have always loved being around children and I would love to teach them English and about other cultures. I grew up taking care of my two amazing little brothers. I have also babysat my younger cousins. Back in school I was a tutor to younger students and I have also worked at a summer camp with younger children. I already have 17 years of experience at being a big sister and a role model for my siblings.
