Letter to the family

Hello ! My name is Garance, I'm 18 years old and I'm currently studying for a Bachelor's degree in Applied Foreign Languages and Marketing at the University of Lille. This course of study is enabling me to improve my language skills, particularly in English, which is one of the main reasons why I want to become an Au Pair ; living in an English-speaking country would give me the opportunity to practice English with natives speakers. In addition to this linguistic motivation, I've always had a passion for traveling and discovering new cultures.
I also love spending time with children, which led me to start babysitting almost 3 years ago. I have over 200 hours of babysitting experience, ranging from daycare to evening and even overnight care. I've looked after children of all ages, from a few months to 11 years old, and have worked with children with a variety of personalities. I'm very imaginative, which makes it easy for me to come up with new and creative activities for the children. I'm also patient and attentive to their needs.
In addition to my babysitting experience, I'm happy to help around the house with everyday tasks. I'm also comfortable in the kitchen, especially with baking, and I'm always eager to learn new recipes. I have my driver's license, which could give me flexibility in running errands or driving the children.
I also have pets at home, so I’m used to being around animals and have no issue caring for them if needed !

Experience

I have never been an Au Pair before, but it's not an experience that scares me. On the contrary, I'm excited about the opportunity to take on this new challenge. As I already said, I have solid experience as a babysitter. This experience has enabled me to develop skills in time management, communication and looking after children, whether it's helping them with their homework, organizing activities or simply looking after their safety and well-being. What's more, I'm particularly interested in the idea of becoming an au pair abroad, as it would enable me to perfect my English while discovering a new culture. I'm convinced that living with a family in another country would be an enriching experience, both personally and professionally, and that I could make a positive contribution to family life.
