Letter to the family

Hi, my name is Gaia, and I’m a 24-year-old girl from Italy. I come from a small town called Limone Piemonte, where I lived until 4 years ago with my family: my mom, dad, and my younger sister. We are very close, and even though we live far apart, they always offer their support.
Four years ago, I moved to Aosta to study, where I completed my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2023. Then, I moved to Padua to pursue my second Bachelor's in Neuroscience, which I will complete in 2025. My passion for neuropsychology has been with me since childhood, and my goal is to become a neuropsychologist, helping people by understanding the brain and its dynamics.
I’m a sunny, sociable, enterprising, and determined person who loves learning new things and gaining experience. I spent 20 years as a competitive alpine skier, which taught me independence and how to manage life away from home. Traveling is something I still love today, as it allows me to explore new cultures and grow as a person. Right now I'm a ski instructor and I work in France (Courchevel).
I have had various experiences with children, including my internship and laboratory work in my universities studies, where I worked with children with developmental disorders, genetic diseases, and other special needs. Additionally, I work as a ski instructor, teaching children (including those with developmental disorders and genetic conditions) to ski. This has helped me develop patience, creativity, and adaptability in working with kids.
I’m eager to become an Au Pair because it aligns with my passion for children and development, and it’s a great opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture while continuing my studies in neuropsychology. Taking care of children and providing them with love and support, while gaining international experience, is something I truly enjoy. I believe being an Au Pair will help me grow personally and professionally, as I will be able to learn from a different environment and bring a fresh perspective to the family I work with.
I would be a great addition to your family because I’m responsible, caring, and always willing to help. I have some experiences with children, and I enjoy creating positive, nurturing environments where they can feel safe and loved. Plus, my background in psychology allows me to understand the developmental needs of children and adapt my approach accordingly. I’m excited about the opportunity to bond with your family and contribute to creating a positive atmosphere in your home.

Experience

I would like to become an Au Pair abroad because it offers a unique opportunity to combine my passion for working with children with my desire to experience and learn from a new culture. I see it as a chance to gain international experience while pursuing my academic and career goals in neuropsychology. I enjoy being around children, and I believe this experience will allow me to learn more about different educational and family practices, which will enrich both my personal growth and professional development.
Additionally, becoming an Au Pair will allow me to enhance my language skills, develop a deeper understanding of diverse cultures, and improve my ability to adapt to new environments. The experience will be valuable not only for my future career in neuropsychology but also for enriching my life through new perspectives and experiences.
