Letter to the family

Hello, my future host family!

I’m Aisha, a 23 year-old Filipina living in Spain and working as an English language assistant under the Ministry of Education. During my free time, I also do freelance as a private English tutor to some of my students.

Since there will be no school on summer and students will be on vacation, I’m planning to look for an au pair job opportunity that will keep me occupied and productive at the same time.

Some things to know about me is that I love taking care of kids and playing with them. Some years back, I’ve had an experience taking care of a baby or a kid when I was in the Philippines because I helped in taking care of my nephew. In fact, I love kids so much that even my students at school are from ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 10!

Looking forward to a summer filled with new experience! I also love meeting new people, creating connections, and learning about new culture.

Experience

I believe this experience will be a turning point in my life where I could see the world from a different perspective. It is a beautiful way for me to celebrate life by leaving a remarkable legacy to my future students that they will not pick up from their textbooks. Reciprocally, what captures my heart more is the thought of being inspired by these students, who could possibly be the future president, minister, doctor, engineer, lawyer, and so on, and be able to touch me with their stories. This could be one of the many things that might forever influence their lives and mine as a byproduct of the chance to learn something worthwhile from each other. Educating their minds with the English language is one thing, but educating their hearts with invaluable life lessons is the service of a purpose bigger than myself.
