Letter to the family

Dear Host Family,

My name is Manali and I am a twenty- one year old student from California. I grew up in a loving, multi- cultural family, my father is American and my mom grew up in Germany. I have an older sister as well.
My mom has always been a great animal rescue person, so we grew up with many dogs, cats and horses. I am definitely an animal lover.

Since my mother is a teacher for children who have special needs, I have been exposed to children and their diverse needs from a very early age. Since middle school, I have been baby sitting for many families in my neighborhood and I also worked for an after school program called “ The Boys and Girls Club” for two years. I am certified in First Aid and CPR.
In college, I have been taking child development classes which I truly enjoyed.
I really love children, I enjoy finding creative ways to help them learn and grow as individuals.

Experience

I am very interested in other countries, cultures and languages. I grew up in a multi- cultural family as my father is American, my mother grew up in Germany and I was adopted from India as an infant.

I find other countries and people fascinating and interesting and I am hoping for the opportunity to learn more about other people and their culture that shaped them. I also believe that if we all stay connected as human beings from different places, we can achieve a more peaceful world.
