Hi!

My name is Emily, and I’m a 19-year-old university student from Canada. I’m currently studying Nursing and Kinesiology, and I’m expected to graduate in 2028 with a dual degree. I’ve always had a passion for working with children, and after graduation, I hope to become a pediatric nurse. Becoming an Au Pair would be an amazing opportunity for me to learn more about different cultures while helping a local family however I can.
I want to be an Au Pair because I’m excited to immerse myself in a new culture, meet new people, and make meaningful connections with your family. I believe being an Au Pair is a great way to experience life in a different country while supporting your family with childcare, household tasks, and whatever you might need. I love being around kids and enjoy making their day fun, educational, and memorable.
I’ve had about 7 years of childcare experience, including nannying, babysitting, and working with children in my community through local libraries and activity programs. I’ve also worked as a summer camp counselor, which gave me the chance to work with kids of all ages and plan activities. I’ve completed my standard First Aid and CPR, and I’ve gained useful health knowledge through my nursing and kinesiology courses, which helps me feel confident in providing a safe and caring environment for children.
I believe I’d be a great fit for your family because I’m responsible, energetic, and eager to help with whatever needs to be done. I come from a big family, so I’m used to being around kids and managing multiple tasks at once! I enjoy activities like yoga, fitness, and spending time outdoors, and I’d love to encourage your children to stay active and enjoy nature as well.

Experience

My experience in childcare is around 7 years, I have babysat since I was younger and have nannied the past few summers! Last summer, I went on call as a nanny for a midwife and enjoyed the extra responsibility and time I got to spend with the children! I've had opportunity to volunteer with children's activities in my community center and local library. I've spent a few summers working as a counselor at my local summer camp. My mother is a kindergarten teacher and I regularly help her out in her classroom with day-to-day activities. I am in nursing school and have my standard First Aid and CPR completed! Additionally, through my studies in Kinesiology, I have lead children's exercise programs, and studied child development.
I was born in Canada and I have not had a chance to travel a lot, so am really excited to experience that as an Au Pair, where I could stay with a family! I believe being an Au Pair would be an incredible immersive experience into a new culture.
