Letter to the family

Dear future host,

My name is Bonnie, and I’m from London, where I’ve lived my whole life with my mum, dad and sister. Now that I’ve finished school, I’m ready to explore the world and experience life in a new way. I’m kind, open-minded, and genuinely enjoy spending time with both children and older people — I’ve always found those two age groups the easiest to connect with, and conversations with them often feel the most real and rewarding.

I’m especially drawn to the Au Pair & Home Share with Elderly program because I want to be part of a meaningful exchange, where I can offer companionship and help in daily life, while also learning from someone with a different life story and culture. I believe being present, patient, and helpful can make a real difference in someone’s day — and I’m the kind of person who genuinely cares about doing just that.

You should host me because I’m warm, reliable, and a good listener. Whether it’s lending a hand around the house, preparing meals, keeping company, or simply being a friendly presence, I’m happy to contribute. I love hearing stories, sharing laughs, and being part of a home that feels welcoming and respectful.

I might be young, but I’m mature, responsible, and eager to grow. I believe this experience will not only let me support someone else but also shape me into a more independent and understanding person.

Thank you so much for considering me!

Warm wishes,
Bonnie

Experience

While I haven’t officially worked as an au pair or lived in a home share with elderly before, I’ve had a lot of informal experience through helping out with younger children in my family and spending time with elderly relatives and neighbors. I’ve always felt comfortable talking with both children and older people — they’re the two age groups I find easiest and most natural to connect with.

I’d love to become an au pair & home share with elderly abroad because I want to step out of my comfort zone and experience life in a new country, while also doing something that feels meaningful. Supporting someone’s daily routine, offering company, and building a genuine bond feels like the perfect way to do that.
